Redunancy Support info webinar details

A course of six sessions to support clients going through redundancy

  • Impact - This first stage of the process is a health check, fundamentally asking the question where are we now? It will examine what emotional impact the redundancy announcement has made on the client and to use that as a basis for future coaching. Using the Kubler Ross change cycle (often associated with bereavement) we’ll look at what stage of the journey you are on. Some may feel anger, fear, numbness or have their self-confidence depleted. We’ll look at each of the factors and use it as a barometer for future progress.

  • Barriers – building on the first session, this is where we’ll look at how we can overcome some of the challenges that your new situation has brought up, whether that’s financial expectations, lowered self-confidence, decision paralysis or a negative mindset. I’ll reframe some of these beliefs and help you into a new beginning reset.

  • Values and Motivation – this is where we start go get under the skin, to start to understand what the next steps might be, whether that’s a similar role, a change of career or a downshift to part-time work or retirement, for example. We’ll use a range of tools and techniques to understand what really lights your fires, where your priorities are at this stage of life, and what the perfect work-life balance might be.

  • Strengths and Transferable Skills – an audit of your experience and range of skills across your whole career and identifying what can be optimised in future job searches, as well as identifying any gaps that need bridging with further training, research or work experience.

  • Progression – this is about starting to create a plan and building a sense of momentum. We’ll look at growth mindset and other tools to stay positive. Looking back at the earlier sessions on values and strengths, we’ll look at timelines, options and what realistic objectives can be set for the coming months.

  • Future Options and next steps – in this session we’ll review progress made so far and look at both short-term and more long-term goals. It may be that there’s a higher ambition, but to achieve it there are some more practical steps and sacrifices to be made.  We’ll reconfirm the short-term objectives and ensure there’s a sense of commitment and accountability to take you forward onto the next career challenge.
